All applications will be assessed and members will be notified if they have or have not been selected to come forward for a brief interview to discuss their application.

Maximum course duration for each winner is 4 years with a minimum duration of 1 year. The scholarship is worth up to €1,000 each year for a maximum of 4 years.
Each year this fee is paid directly to the college once exams are passed each year.

1. You must be a member of East Coast Credit Union for at least 2 weeks.

2. Your account must be active with at least €50 or more shares on or before Friday 6^th October 2023.

3. Applications received after 5 pm on Friday 6^th October 2023 cannot be accepted.

4. You must be over 16 years of age.

5. Upon approval or decline you will be notified by a member of East Coast Credit Union Ltd in writing by email or by post at the address provided on the application form.

6. The winning applicant must agree to promotional activities including photographs in print and on digital media.

7. The winner will be chosen by an Independent Group of Judges after reviewing all applications and shortlisting a group to proceed individually for a brief interview discussing the essay ‘why I should qualify for The Pat Woods Scholarship.’

8. The course must be maximum 4 years and minimum 1 year with up to €1,000 maximum payment each year. No cash payments made. Payment is made directly to college /university/apprenticeship after proof of acceptance is obtained.

9. On successful completion of all exams payment of the 2nd and subsequent years will be made in the September of each year.

10. Private colleges, all Ireland Institutions, 1-year courses and apprenticeships are accepted.

11. Terms and conditions apply. The decision by the Independent Group of Judges at each and every stage is final.

In memory of the late Pat Woods, we have dedicated our scholarship in his memory. Pat’s involvement with East Coast Credit Union extends to the 1960’s. He served on the voluntary Board of Directors during which time he actively participated in credit union courses, served twice as the credit union’s treasurer and diligently served on the management committee of the Credit Union Development Association (CUDA). Pat was one of a kind and irreplaceable.
